SERIOUS AND URGENT WELFARE CONCERN REGARDING PUPPY ENQUIRIES FROM THE UK
The UK Irish Wolfhound Health Group has been alerted to a serious and current welfare problem regarding puppy enquiries made through social media, email and the internet. A person in the UK is seeking to purchase puppies from breeders in both the UK and Europe, using many different false names and false information about their suitability and circumstances. Dogs have already been imported from many European countries and their health and welfare has been the cause of grave concern within the IW community and the vets dealing with them.
If you receive any puppy enquiries from the UK from someone you do not know personally, or through a trusted friend in the UK, PLEASE contact the IWHG or any of the UK breed bodies, who will be happy to help you and will organize to check the person on your behalf.
WE URGE YOU TO MAKE THOROUGH CHECKS BEFORE PARTING WITH YOUR PUPPIES.
